Weaverville, NC  affectionately known as Asheville's "Little Sister" has that small town charm while still possessing all the modern amenities and shopping.  First settled around 1785, Weaverville--named for Michael Montraville Weaver who gave the land for the town--was officially incorporated in 1874 and operates under a Council-Manager form of government.  It is located just 10 miles north of Asheville, NC bordering Reems Creek Valley and overlooked by the Blue Ridge Mountains.   It is home to the Zebulon B Vance birthplace that has been beautifully restored and makes an excellent day trip for the family.  Weaverville and the surrounding area offer many outdoor adventures.  Experience beautiful hiking and biking trails along the Blue Ridge Parkway or head off to day of golf at Reems Creek Golf Course.
